OK ok ok I'll giv u more than taht...
if you've never heard of satisfactory, its all about building... factories! xP.
You set down on an alien planet (filled with alien creatures and fauna) and your only task is to EXPLOIT!
You've got to exploit as much and as efficiently as possible and the in-universe company Ficsit (whom you work for) have no quarms telling you this. Their inclusion gives the game a little dystopian feeling,
which I always like. But realy the best part of the game is building the factories.
Never has a scratch been itched as effectively as what Satisfactory did for me. The ease of building and yet depth and complexity provided through the different logistical systems is just fantastic.
Be warned! This game will make you use your brain.
I absolutely love how easy it is to get rid of something should you make a mistake; simply hold 'f' and the building is dismantled and resources refunded. It means that, should you unlock a new upgraded
building you can tear your whole factory down and start it completely over to ensure you can squeeze out the most amount of materials from your systems. I do think there is some issue with building the
foundations as sometimes if you've started a factory elsewhere and want to connect it up to a different one then the foundations don't align and it can look a tad messy. But this is a super small nitpick.
The larger problem with building is actually to do with the blueprints. The space in which you have to build and save your blueprints isn't really big enough to actually ever be seriously useful as the factories
in this game tend to be on the larger side. Something closer to Shapez 2's blueprint system where you can just select a bunch of objects would've served the game better in my opinion. One could make the
argument (as ficsit does when you first unlock the blueprint function) that space should be made efficient in exactly the same way as time but i think that when you have barely enough space to fit four
constructors the task of fitting a certain system within it is too difficult to be worth the effort. I end up just building the factories myself without the help of the blueprint feature, which is
unfortunate as it has the potential to be a very useful feature.
Of course, this game will not pique everyones interests. It targets a specific group of people who enjoy this sort of challenge. If the puzzle of making stuff as efficiently as possible doesn't sound
appealing to you then you should probably give this game a miss. But if you like that sort of thing (or you've played other factory type games) then this is definitely worth your time!
